Wascana Winter Festival program for 2024

Friday February 16: A Reconciliation project; between the First Nations University of Canada (FNU) and Notre Dame College, the goal of the project is to create stronger relations between both students and staff of each institution. The project will see FNU staff and students provide a guided tour of the FNU afterwards the two groups will meet for lunch. The event will see all participants join in a ceremonial Round Dance. This is a closed event.

Saturday February 17, 11 am: A Magic and Music Brunch Hosted by the National Association of Federal Retirees at the Wascana Golf and Country club. If you are a retired RCMP, Armed Services or Retired Federal employee you are eligible for this magnificent Brunch. The cost is only 10 dollars subsidized by the Regina and District Branch of the National Association of Federal Retirees. The event features Magic by local Magician Will Leach. In addition, the Regina Jazz Society has selected Musicians from its local talent pool to entertain the group. The event promises to be a great start to your Saturday. Sunday February 18, 2024 1pm: Open to the Public Free Sleigh Rides from in front of the Legislature with readings from Saskatchewan Writers who are members of the Saskatchewan Writers Guild. There will also be demonstrations of Snow Cricket, Public Skating, Cross Country Skiing on groomed trails provided by the Regina Ski Club. Finally tours of the Legislative Building will run all afternoon according to their published scheduling.

Monday February 19, 2024 at 1pm and 2:45pm: Concerts by the Regina Symphony Orchestra at Holy Rosary Cathedral (13th Avenue and Garnet St). Li’l Shadd is a Saskatchewan story set to music that honours African Canadian Black History Month. This promises to be a wonderful family-friendly event. The event is part of African Canadian Black History Month in Canada.

Other events to get out and enjoy yourself Regina Jazz Society Dessert Nite the Monday February 12 at Bushwalkers and Regina Hockey has a great tournament at the COOP arenas starting February 16 and a fly over by Moose Jaw 15 Wing on Friday 16.
