SaskCulture works with a variety of community partners to develop programs that support cultural activity in the province.
SK Arts serves the people of Saskatchewan through programs, services and partnerships designed to build a strong and vibrant arts sector. We work with SK Arts on delivering funding and program initiatives designed to support engagement in the arts in Saskatchewan.
The Ministry works with diverse groups and communities to: enhance the province's cultural, artistic, recreational and social life; promote excellence in the arts, culture, heritage and sport; and to support a vibrant and growing arts and cultural community. SaskCulture works with the Ministry, and other government ministries, to enhance cultural engagement throughout the province.
Gabriel Dumont Institute (GDI) promotes the renewal and development of Metis culture through research, materials development, collection and distribution; and the design, development and delivery of Metis-specific education programs and services. GDI works in partnership with SaskCulture in the promotion and delivery of the Metis Cultural development Fund.
The Saskatchewan Indigenous Cultural Centre (SICC) exists to protect, preserve and promote the languages and cultures of the eight language groups of what is now known as Saskatchewan: Plains Cree, Swampy Cree, Woodland Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakoda and Lakota. SICC is the 3rd party funder in Saskatchewan with SaskCulture providing support as a delivery partner for the Aboriginal Languages Initiative (ALI), a federal program funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage.
The Saskatchewan Arts Alliance (SAA) is an inclusive, member-driven coalition of arts organizations that provides a collective voice for the arts community of Saskatchewan. SaskCulture supports SAA as a Community of Interest for the Arts.
Heritage Saskatchewan is the collective voice of all those who value heritage in Saskatchewan. SaskCulture supports Hertiage Saskatchewan as a Community of Interest for Heritage.
SaskCulture has taken on the role of leading Saskatchewan’s participation in Culture Days, which is a pan-Canadian initiative designed to increase awareness, accessibility, and engagement of citizens in cultural activities in their communities. SaskCulture helps motivate the cultural community to organize activities and develop partnerships, as well as coordinating the work of provincial Culture Days Animateurs, and a variety of provincial promotional efforts.
