The provincial budget, announced by the Government of Saskatchewan on March 20, 2024, called Classrooms, Care and Communities, had a lot of good news for schools, healthcare and community support, but not much for arts, heritage and culture. Other than a significant increase to the Community Initiatives Fund with $8.47 million for 2024-2025, from $6.36 million the previous year, the budget numbers for the upcoming year remain much the same. The Royal Saskatchewan Museum received a decrease, receiving $3.058 million for 2024-25, down from $3,939 million the previous year. All other major arts and cultural agencies remained status quo. |
