Public Engagement Study Looks at Post-COVID Realities
A new study from Hill Strategies highlights some of the reasons for optimism and pessimism for the cultural sector in Canada as organizations continue to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the findings include:
- 56% of pre-pandemic attendees expect to wait before returning to indoor arts and cultural performances;
- 37% indicated they plan to reduce their spending on entertainment after businesses and organizations re-open, while 44% expect their spending to remain the same as it was prior to the pandemic; and,
- 32% of pre-pandemic arts goers have already attended an art gallery, museum, or an outdoor perform as organizations have re-opened, as opposed to only 19% of those who have attended indoor performances.
