Indigenous Languages and Cultures Program
The Indigenous Languages and Cultures (ILC) Program, formerly known as the Aboriginal Languages Initiative (ALI), is now open for applications. ILC, a Canadian Heritage funding program, supports the reclamation, revitalization, maintenance, and strengthening of Indigenous languages through community-driven activities.
First Nations applicants in Saskatchewan can access the ILC program through the Saskatchewan Indigenous Cultural Centre (SICC). Program information including guidelines, application questions and how to apply can be found on SICC's ILC program page. The deadline to apply to SICC ILC is February 5, 2020.
Interested Métis applicants can request an application package directly from Canadian Heritage. More information can be found on Canadian Heritage's ILC program page; please note that the application deadline through Canadian Heritage is January 31, 2020.
