Feds to Spend $2.3 M to Preserve Indigenous Languages
Saskatchewan will receive $2.3 million over two years to help preserve, promote and revitalize Indigenous languages. Heritage and Multiculturalism Minister Pablo Rodriguez said the money will be managed by the Saskatchewan Indigenous Cultural Centre (SICC) who will be in charge of distributing it for activities including language and culture camps, mentor and apprenticeship programs and the development of learning materials. SaskCulture is a proud partner in the delivery of Aboriginal Language Initiative in Saskatchewan.
