Funding announced for Canada 150 Program
Yesterday, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced $150 million dollars for the new Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program which will provide essential support for community and cultural infrastructure across the country as a way to help celebrate the sesquicentennial of Canada's Confederation. The Program is expected to support up to 1,800 projects, providing funding for the renovation, expansion and rehabilitation of existing infrastructure that creates community, cultural and heritage benefits for the public. Eligible recipients include provinces, territories, municipal and regional governments, Aboriginal organizations and not-for-profit organizations.
