Qu'Appelle Valley Ecomuseum officially launched

On Dec. 4th, the Calling Lakes District Planning Commission, File Hills Qu'Appelle Tribal Council, Kairos and The Friends of the Katepwa Park announced  the official launch of the Qu'Appelle Valley Ecomuseum.  Ecomuseums are community-based "museums without walls" that foster sustainable forms of social and economic development through the conservation and interpretation of natural and cultural heritage 
 

The Saskatchewan Ecomuseums Initiative also received an award by the United Nations University as a Regional Centre of Expertise (RCE) flagship project in the category of "Bridging Local Knowledge and Global Perspectives on Sustainable Development".
