The Uganda-Canadian Association of Saskatchewan (UCAS) was founded in 1989 and incorporated in 1990. The objectives of UCAS are to promote co-operation among Ugandan-Canadians and the larger Canadian society; promote and develop Ugandan culture as part of multiculturalism; assist new immigrants; promote equality and integration in society including the elimination of racism and discrimination within our community and the general public. UCAS has successfully implemented local projects that have supported collaboration among the African-Canadian diaspora and public institutions plus national projects engaging seven provinces. UCAS also runs a language school and summer camps. UCAS's values are integrity, unity, family, hard work and inclusion and its mission is to establish a legacy of the Uganda Canadian heritage and contribute to the development of Saskatchewan through active and equitable integration.
