About Us:
The Moose Jaw Centre for Arts & Culture is a vibrant hub for artistic expression, housing the historic Mae Wilson Theatre, artist studios, non-profit offices, art gallery, and a gift shop. We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Business Manager to oversee financial operations, facility rentals, and administrative support to ensure the Centre remains financially sustainable and operationally efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Oversight: Bookkeeping, payroll, manage budgets, invoicing, and financial reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Bookkeeping & Accounting: Maintain financial records using Sage Accounting software, ensuring compliance with standard bookkeeping practices.
• Facility & Rental Management: Oversee rental agreements, coordinate with tenants, and ensure smooth operations for facility use.
• Administrative Leadership: Assist the Executive Director through streamlining paperwork, supporting grant applications, and assisting with operational efficiency including staff scheduling, workflows (Monday.com) etc.
• Contracting: Assist with developing and managing contracts for artists, vendors, facility rentals, and tenants.
• Policy Implementation & Updating: Enforce tenant policies and assist Executive Director in managing conflict resolution with renters and stakeholders. Keep licensing like liquor, ISC (Corporate Registry), and Insurance up to date.
• Operational Support: Work closely with the Executive Director to improve cost efficiencies and maximize revenue streams. Strategic financial and data analysis.
• Schedule Flexibility: Work hours will often include evenings and weekends as required for show nights and other events.
Qualifications:
• Experience and/or education in business administration, finance, or nonprofit management.
• Proficiency in Sage Accounting software and strong bookkeeping skills.
• Experience developing and maintaining organizational budgets.
• Strong organizational, financial, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with non-profits, arts organizations, and/or facility management is an asset.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
