Summer Camp Programmer

The Diefenbaker Canada Centre is recruiting two full-time Summer Camp Programmers to research, develop and deliver in-person youth camp programs for children ages 8-10. Candidates must be current undergraduate university students who have completed at least two years of study ideally; preferred fields are education, political or international studies, history, or other humanities fields. The candidates must be returning to full-time studies in the fall.

-Ability to set and meet deadlines while working on multiple projects and to take initiative
-Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
-A commitment to exceptional customer service, including a tactful, responsive, pleasant, and effective manner in person, phone, and email communication
-Ability to problem-solve effectively in an independent manner
-Advanced computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office, Zoom, and PowerPoint
-Reliable transportation is required.
-This position requires flexibility and will include weekend shifts. Regular May and June shifts will run Tuesday to Saturday; July and August shifts will run Monday to Friday. Additional work hours may be assigned as needed.
-Previous work experience with summer camp programming or working with young audiences would be considered an asset
-The ability to communicate in French (written and oral) would be considered an asset.
