MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
SaskMusic, Regina or Saskatoon

This full-time position will be responsible for the general marketing of SaskMusic’s programs and services, managing the SaskMusic brand and connections across social media and other marketing avenues, monitoring and collecting data on Saskatchewan music news and developments, and various other communications and marketing duties. Reporting to and collaborating with the Executive Director, the Coordinator will be responsible for providing strategic communications advice and support to the organization, and will assist in the planning and delivery of our varied programs and services.
A key member of our small and dedicated team, the ideal candidate will share our commitment to helping Saskatchewan music thrive. The successful candidate in this role will:
• Update and implement communications policies and plans that support the strategic direction of the organization;
• Assist in strengthening media, government, and community relations;
• Lead/coordinate audio and visual captures of our events;
• Manage website and social media;
• Marketing the association, our programs, and events;
• Create impactful promotional graphics and reports;
• Display a high degree of accuracy and professionalism as a representative of our organization;
• Have an affinity for the arts and community development;
• Provide administrative and logistical support to other staff and our events;
• Contribute to the planning and production of SaskMusic events and programs;
• Providing support services to artists and the music industry;
• Engage in continual learning about industry standards and trends.
The successful applicant will have:
• Bachelors’ degree in communications, public relations, or journalism; or three years' experience working in communications and marketing (or a relevant combination of education and experience).
• Experience in a full range of communication methods.
• Expert written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to evaluate and report on communication strategies.
• Excellent personal and professional judgement in all communication activities.
• The ability to think and act quickly, creatively and strategically.
• Competency in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and design and layout software including Photoshop, InDesign, and/or equivalent.
• A friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
• The ability to manage and report on their program budgets.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Amazing attention to detail.
• The desire to work co-operatively within a small team environment and contribute ideas.
• The confidence to oversee, present, and represent us at events, and in social media content.
• Personal experience with music and/or an articulated love for the arts.
The successful candidate will work from either our Regina or Saskatoon office. Relocation expenses will not be covered. Some occasional travel in-province will be required for program delivery and events; a driver's license is required. This position is full-time based on 37.5 hours/week, and will require occasional evening and weekend work in flow with our programming schedule. The starting salary range is $45,000-$55,000 depending on experience, and following a probationary period we offer health benefits, a company pension, and 3 weeks of paid annual vacation.

We represent, promote and develop the artists and music industry of Saskatchewan, offering one-on-one guidance, workshops, marketing and export assistance, career development opportunities, peer sessions, artists/services directory, and much more. From songwriters and freelance musicians to studios, we work with artists and industry members from across our province, in a wide range of genres and skill levels. We also provide information and resources to the general public and the music industry.
