Legacy Tours – Project Coordinator/Researcher (Contract)
Contract position through length of project-specific grant funding, approximately 6 months. Anticipated 30-40 hours/month of work.
$4000.00 to be paid upon completion of contract objectives
Purpose:
The Legacy Tours Project films heritage walking tours to maintain institutional knowledge of volunteers ready to move on from their role with us and serve as a way for us to acknowledge and celebrate their volunteer contributions.
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Project Coordinator/Researcher takes a leading role in project coordination and internal communication, research, tour writing, and identifying technology to assist with on-site tours.
Duties & Competencies
Research, including archival, digital, and photographic
Maintain and execute work plans and databases for project plans, research, and images relating to the project
Consistent and clear internal communications and coordination of all parties required for the project
Writing of two legacy tours, utilizing research and interviews with outgoing volunteers (each tour approximately one hour in length)
o sites with intangible cultural significance have been identified and included
o writing for interpretation and/or the public experience
Walking Tour map developed for both tours
A background in heritage, library/archival work, or research is an asset.
Outcomes of Contract:
The tours of two Legacy Tour Guides (three tours total) have been recorded
Two Legacy Tour scripts and maps fully completed based on outgoing volunteer knowledge and original research
Historical images identified and compiled for both tours
Mobile app and/or other options for the sharing of images during on-site tours identified and evaluated
Content, outline and work schedule for completion of two tour videos finalized with at least one video tour ready for online launch by end of project.
Work plan and budget to complete and outstanding work.
Lessons learned and recommendations for future work, connections with schools submitted to the board.
