Maintenance Technician - WDM Saskatoon

The WDM Saskatoon is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the Museum's facilities, rental and kitchen spaces, office spaces, equipment and grounds are maintained to a high standard. This position is also responsible for supporting the daily care and upkeep of the buildings, vehicles and equipment including making repairs as required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensures the WDM’s building, and grounds are maintained through regular inspection and maintenance schedules.
• Acts as back up and support for operating and maintaining the building’s boilers and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoots and at times repairs issues with plumbing, lighting, heating, refrigeration and electrical systems.
• Undertakes general upkeep of the building’s structures, including supporting cleaning where needed.
• Performs small construction or renovation projects in facility areas and office spaces as needed.
• Properly documents and reports on day-to-day maintenance and repairs, as well as any safety issues.
• Performs closing opening and closing procedures for the Museum as scheduled.
• Plans and prioritizes work in consultation with the Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor and custodial team to complete a range of assignments.

The work schedule is up to 72 hours per 2-week pay period. Some weekend and evening work will be required. The successful candidate will be required to provide a criminal record check.
The WDM provides a substantial benefits package with paid sick leave benefits as well as employer paid health and dental benefits. WDM employees belong to the Public Employees’ Pension Plan with employee contributions being matched by the employer.
