Are you excited about using your creative digital marketing skills to enhance the visibility of Deaf and disabled creatives and the services that support them?

We are a small but ambitious and creative team embarking on a start up digital venture - building Canada’s first online Deaf and disability arts community with stakeholders - and we’re looking for someone to join our team for this exciting journey!

The Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator will oversee and manage online marketing, newsletter content creation, and social media engagement with the goals being: to grow our community, deepen connections with members and other stakeholders; expand visibility for Deaf and disabled artists within and beyond the broader arts sector; keeping on the pulse of new trends and strategies; and learning from our community so that we can improve our products and programming to better meet their needs.

Creative Users Projects is a disability arts service organization with a mission to cultivate Deaf and disability arts community and accessibility in the arts.
Our online platform and programming strive to connect diverse and underrepresented communities and provide the tools and resources needed for changemakers to build a more inclusive arts sector.
In the last decade, Creative Users has worked strategically with partners and communities hosting cultural and knowledge exchange programs, creative development workshops, group exhibitions, and research and development initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Produce and manage email campaigns and weekly newsletters for subscribers and members.
Produce creative and engaging content for marketing our services and programs.
Manage, track and analyze digital marketing metrics, including web traffic, performance, leads, conversions, email performance, and more via automation tools.
Proactively research and identify trends and opportunities from our marketing data
Optimize content for/with SEO, Google Analytics, and other digital platforms
Manage our editorial calendar, delegate tasks, and ensure that deadlines are met on a weekly basis.
Ensure a strong and cohesive organizational presence on various online channels, including social media and our members Slack community.
Support other marketing initiatives, including product launches, events, sponsorships, and more.

Desirable Skills:
1+ years of experience in digital marketing
Strong writing and editorial skills, and an excellent communicator
You have a good grasp of digital touch points (paid and organic, search and social media, web, etc.) and you’re comfortable using digital tools to drive effective digital campaigns
Detail-oriented.
Able to prioritize.
Strategic and analytical, embracing marketing metrics and using those to inform decision-making

Is reliable and able to meet weekly deadlines; and
Is passionate about how marketing can fulfill our mission to build a sustainable future for Deaf and disabled creatives, and excited about participating in initiatives that support artists in our community

How we work
A bit of information about our team! We are a small but growing, ambitious team. We currently operate remotely, meeting online on a weekly basis via Zoom to provide progress updates and collaborate on decisions. We work a 4-day work week from Tuesday through Friday. We operate primarily with the following digital applications: Airtable, Google Workspace, Slack, Figma, Miro, Wordpress, and Zoom.

What does the interview process look like?
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to meet with Creative Users Projects’ Creative Director, Lindsay Fisher and board members for an interview to speak to projects they’ve worked on in the past and their experience managing programs.

This is also an opportunity for us to share more information about how we work as a team and for the candidate to ask questions about the role!

Candidates may also be invited to participate in a second interview. All candidates shortlisted for an interview will be notified of the outcome.
