The first Filipino Heritage Month was marked by the City of Toronto in 2018, before being proclamed by Parliament later in 2018. Filipino Heritage Month is celebrated in June to mark the Philippine Independence Day on June 12. The month is a time to acknowledge of Canada's fastest growing communities and the contributions made by Filipino-Canadians.
