Talking Fresh 2025: Open Secrets
The Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild is excited to present Talking Fresh 2025 in-person on Saturday March 15 and online March 11, 12 and 14. This free festival is for writers and readers and anyone interested in Canadian writing!
Our 2025 theme is Open Secrets. This theme plays with contradictions, ironies, the obvious things we still can’t say to each other and the consequences of keeping secrets. Find out what “open secrets” means to our writers.
This festival is free and open to the public. All are welcome. In-Person events are held at the Artesian at 2627 13th Avenue on Saturday March 15, which is a physically accessible venue. Online events are held via Zoom on March 11, 12 and 14.
Featuring talks and a panel discussion with writers including:
Marissa Stapley - "Hidden in Plain Sight: How to Use Secrets in Storytelling"
Craig Davidson - "Open Secrets - How to Develop Conflict in your Fiction"
Gail Bowen - "Everybody Knows: a panel discussion of open secrets"
Michelle Porter (online) - "Tell Your Story and Tell It Crooked"
Joseph Kakwinokanasum (online) - "Between Two Lines"
Jake Byrnes (online) - "Full Disclosure"
