The Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild is excited to present our 2021 Talking Fresh festival from March 2-7, 2021. This year’s virtual festival theme is Reimagine. How can writing spark the imagination? How can writers reimagine our reality, well-known stories or characters? How can we explore the familiar in unfamiliar ways?
Join the Guild as 19 writers from across Canada explore these issues. Our virtual festival will include panel discussions, conversations, interactive sessions on elements of writing, a keynote address by 2020 Scotiabank Giller prizewinner Souvankham Thammavongsa and even a workshop that will teach you how to turn your words into art. Writers and readers of all genres will find interesting events; we have presentations on poetry, spoken word, fiction, young adult fiction, non-fiction, playwriting and more!
All of our events are held virtually via Zoom and are free of charge. Events will be recorded and shared on the SWG’s Youtube channel. Live text captioning available in all events.
We're proud to acknowledge our festival funders: the City of Regina, Canada Council for the Arts and SaskLotteries, in partnership with Sask Culture.
