Writing North 13 Keynote Address: “Before and After the Writing: Plotting, Structure and Revision” with Omar El Akkad, hosted by Kate O’Gorman
Join Omar El Akkad and host Kate O’Gorman in this lecture and conversation about writing.
This talk will cover some of the work that goes into planning, structuring and revising a novel-length project, including several examples of character, narrative and chapter outlines. We will also look at some examples of innovative structural elements from various novels, as well as ways of revising and re-reading work once the first draft is completed.
Audience Q&A is welcome after the lecture. A note on accessibility: we will have auto-captions and our speakers will do self-descriptions. We will also have a recording of this event available for 30 days after the festival.
